Nottingham Airport to Close on the 6th of June

Vistry Homes have served three months notice to the operator of the airfield despite not having received planning permission yet.

It all started when seven-year old Katie did this drawing and gave it to her mum, Sarah.

Recently, I shared the inspiring story about a mother fighting property developers and the councils to save her local airfield. You can listen to it below.

Today, we learned that the property developer and current owner of the land have served a three-month notice to vacate the premises to the airport operator.

All activities will cease from the 6th of June and no further access will be allowed.

This is despite the fact that the council has yet to give planning permission for the development, and strong opposition from local residents and the aviation community.

It appears this may be another tactic to pressure the council. They seem to believe that if there’s no airfield, the council will be more likely to approve the development.

This action is clearly a cause for concern.
